Air-dry clay is so much fun to work with and you can create so many impressive decor projects with a little bit of creativity.

The idea for these botanical coasters came from a set that I saw at an expensive home decor store. Like so many of my projects, I wanted to figure out a way to make a pricey item on a budget!

Clay Leaf Trinket Dish

This DIY botanical craft came out so neat! I really love how the clay leaf trinket dishes turned out. First I collected 3 differently shaped leaves from my garden to imprint in the clay. The details of the leaf veins look fantastic once they were painted. It is a fun way to create a garden memento.

Botanical Shadowbox

Crafting with Nature: 25 DIY Projects Using Flowers and Botanicals (7)

This botanical shadowbox project was inspired by something that I saw from Pottery Barn. You will need an unfinished shadowbox frame as the base. Paint or stain the frame first, then line the inside with fabric. Finished was a simple weaving with a cotton macrame cord to make places to pop in dried flowers, seed pods, grasses, or anything else you would like to display in your home.

Faux Botanical Projects To Try

Although I love working with real flowers and botanicals, sometimes artificial ones can look amazing in your home too! Here are two of my latest projects using faux botanicals to make Pottery Barn dupes for my home!

Eucalyptus Potted Plant

Crafting with Nature: 25 DIY Projects Using Flowers and Botanicals (22)

Here is an easy way to create your own artificial potted plant or mini tree by following my tutorial. For the one I made, I used faux eucalyptus but ficus, fern, or even flowering branches could be used too. This is a more affordable option than buying a premade one at Home Goods or other decor spots.

Succulent Wall Art

OK, this is one of my personal favorite DIY projects that I’ve made. In the Summer Pottery Barn catalog, I spotted a larger version of succulent wall art…but it was $399! Oh no, I knew I had to show you all how to achieve the same look for less.

The 2 succulent frames are hanging behind my desk and make such a cool-looking background for when I am on video calls for my blogging work.
